It's been a busy couple of weeks. I just managed to get myself caught up on grading algebra, and have a lot more of my AP class to grade. Man, I'm so behind. I hope they don't kill me for not getting their grades in. Otherwise, I'm pretty exhausted right now. I believe I will take this opportunity to go to bed. Sorry for being so boring, but I lost coherency at about 9:30pm tonight.

Fear me! I'm buff!

...or at least I will be soon. I decided to take the (not so) bold step of joining a gym today. WOO! I signed up, with my hubby, for a year. We go for our first meeting with a personal trainer on Sunday.

Wish me luck.

I think I'll need a warm bath and a cold beer afterwards. :)

Aaaaaaaaaaah

So, my friend made me sign up to audition for the school play. AAAAAAH. I'm a drama queen, but not an actress! So, I need a monologue for auditions. If anyone has a good one for me to consider, send it my way as a comment, sil te plait! I will love you forever if you do. Anyways, I've gotta jet to work. Sigh. See y'all later!

We all survived!

So today was the day we took Deuce into the vet for his annual checkup and vaccination. He survived...can't say the same about us.

Got up early to put him on the scale to weigh him, since doing that at the vet clinic is next to impossible. Since he won't stand still on the scale, I decided to weigh myself and then weigh myself holding him. Well he didn't like the sound of the scale so he decided to leap from my arms, but not before leaving four deep scratches in my left arm as he bounded from my grasp. Next came the fun part!

Anyone who has ever had to administer medication to a pet can empathize with me. I gave my little, sweet cat one half of a 5mg valium (adult--read: human dose). We then tossed him into the den (aka 'his room') so if he got too dopey there were less things for him to hurt himself on. About an hour and a half later he was all floppy and sleepy. So naive us thought he would be 'good to go' to the vet. How wrong we were...

No sooner had we packed him into his travel cage and gone out to the hallway of our apartment had the hissing and spitting started. What fun! We put him in the car and his little floppy paw started trying to get at us...and then the growling began! Thankfully the vet clinic is a five minute drive from our apartment.

Once there, they asked us to take him out of the travel cage so they could put him on their scale. Well, there was a large dog in the waiting room and Deuce freaked out even more (if that was even possible). Thanks to our forethought, as I mentioned, we had already weighed him at home.

We saw the vet and she asked us to take him out of the cage, which we declined to do and told her to read his past history. What they always do is take him downstairs so they can have all the technicians jump on him and attempt to control him while the vet administers his vaccinations. He was downstairs with the vet for about ten minutes and since we didn't hear any bloodcurdling screams, we assumed all was well.

She brought Deuce back up and gave him a clean bill of health, though honestly I don't know how much of an exam they could really do when he's riled up. She only said two things about him:

1) He thinks on his feet (which I can only assume means that he was a holy terror downstairs)

2) He needs to have his teeth cleaned (I'm sure he gave the vet a good view of his teeth during the exam) ;)

So all in all, not a bad day...except my kitty's still all floppy on the couch watching t.v. with my hubby.

Happy 5765!

To all those that celebrate Rosh Hashana, and to those that don't, Happy New Year! May the coming year be filled with happiness, health and brim with sweetness!

...Hi!

Sooooooooooo hey people. I'm Marina. Duh. :) Umm... figured I'd jump on the bandwagon with the whole bloggy thing too, WOO! Ummmmm... so I guess I'm supposed to tell you stuff? Okay... I'm younger than you... or most likely. There are probably very few people younger than me on here. I live in Canadawhichisthebestcountryintheworldwooo aaand am attempting to graduate this year. :) I sing constantly, play the piano decently, and am learning the drums and the guitar. Love horses and horse back riding, and animals in general, and my puppy is coming back in November after being away for 2 whole years! *SOB* But she's coming so that makes it all better. Ugh, I've never been good at these things. What to say next? Umm... I'm in the school choir (had solos the past two years, yayyyyy!), trying out for Vocal Jazz (auditioned jazz group) right now, (nother rehearsal is actually tomorrow. I have music every day of the week, isn't that nuts?) and... in drama! First collective rehearsal today. It was pretty cool; I love drama kids, they're so unique/original/CRAZY/fun! I think it's gonna be amazing. Supposed to be doing the playwright thing, probably next semester as well. Have a pretty cool idea about it, but can't really describe it yet as I started writing at 1:30 in the morning, so I'm not 100% sure where it's going. Once I do, I guarantee (well, not really, but it sounds good) to say it'll be awesome, so yeh. Ummm... yeh. I'm cold. And my room needs cleaning. So I'm going to go change out of my super awesome skirt that I got at this medieval store thing when I was on vacation (it's suelvet! Suede/velvet, and soooooo soft and warm and pretty AAAAND it was on sale! Teehee!), and go put away clothes and probably sleep and all that boring stuff y'all PROBABLY couldn't care less about. And if you do well... Tough! :) I'm sleepy. So yes. Farewell!

My cat's a ninja!

Lately every night when I use the computer, the cat sneaks up behind me and meows as loud as humanly (well, felinely) possible to get my attention. It's not like I neglect him or anything, but he wants attention when HE wants it and the rest of the world be damned!

Anyways, he's started a new thing. In addition to sneaking up on me, he now stands on his hind legs and puts his front paws on the back of the chair that I'm sitting on. So he basically stands up, makes himself all long and lanky, and swats at my neck/shoulders/hair and whatever else he can get his paws on. If that's not enough, last night, he jumped and pulled himself up the back of the chair so he was standing on it. Quite the feat for such a docile animal!

On top of that, my husband and I get to take him in for his vaccines and annual checkup. We got a notice in the mail a few weeks ago that it was time...well, I say 'we' but the letter was addressed to my cat. You know it's sad when your cat gets mail and you don't. Deuce (my cat) is the sweetest thing in the world but I feel so badly when we have to take him into the vet. I don't really feel badly for him, since it has to be done, I feel badly for the unfortunate veterinarian that has to handle him.

Most cats don't like going to the vet, which is understandable, but Deuce goes psycho when we have to take him in. First we have to 'prep' him which means cutting his nails (which we do for his safety and the safety of the technicians and vet that have to deal with him), and giving him some Valium...the cat, not the vet. Yes, my cat is so incredibly psycho that we have to give him Valium. Valium! For a cat!

On top of the Valium, they need four people to surround and handle him so he doesn't kill everyone in sight. Does he really look that evil? Anyways, that's what this coming weekend's 'fun' is going to be. Wish me luck!

I didn't expect to start the weekend in the emergency room.

The only two times I've been to the emergency room, it's been with the same person. Neither time was me being injured.

Yikes.

Meaningless babble from the bottom of the glass

Hey all, Gothos got to post pictures so I thought I should as well. In fact, I think everyone who posts should, in fact, I scold Kroz and Foxtail for not doing it, hear that? Scolded.

Most people know me as Hino, but you, you can call me the Late Ryan Virtue, that is my name after all. Continuing with the norm out of fear of eccentricity I'll tell a bit about myself, open up a little bit, share myself to you, the consumer. I'm an aspiring writer, what do I do right now? Graphics. I run an upstart online magazine with my roommates that focuses on business to consumer advertising, and as I said, I do the graphics. You can check it out if you'd like; to locate your local H2O Magazine (our business name) by going to www.h2ocitymagazines.com, check out the pretty graphics and pay no real attention to the rest because it is assuredly is inferior. I graduated highschool a year ago and after that I ran away to Vegas to start up my new life. I guess what I'm saying is, if you ever find yourself heading towards Vegas let me know, we'll party, party hard, party 'til the cows come home, then party with the cows.

So... that's it for me... for now. Next time I'll probably talk about an area... or perhaps my own black belt or the plays I've written... or... damn Foxtail for making the rest of us sound so boring.

So, I'll see you later, be sure to send me lots of tells in ROM telling me I'm your favorite imm. Oh, and if this message is grammatically and typo-ishisly appauling, it's because I'm writing this at 2 in the morning, or at least that's my excuse for now.

In the Heat

So, finally...usbank got the payment for September! Which is a relief.

In other news, ceramics. That's the undergrad course I'm currently taking. Working in clay is fun. The medium is "difficult" in the idea that it is imprecise and requires so much technique for craft. I guess traditional artists would feel the same way about my computer as a medium.

I think my students are a little surprised about how fast I can draw and animate in Flash. I feel somewhat the same way about how Bob works the techniques.

I am now officially a first degree black belt. :)

Busy and Broke

So things have been so busy with me. I've been teaching, taking an undergrad class (to get myself used to taking classes for when I start grad classes), and trying to do all the stuff associated with having a house.

I had one class cancelled during the first week of class (only 4 people in the class) and then was assigned another class on the second week of classes. I will probably only teach this class one semester...so it's a toss up as to reediting the course work to my style or just going with the flow...

The house is great. Of course, Wells Fargo sold the loan to usbank. I knew it was going to happen. But it sucks: I mailed an early payment to Wells Fargo. It has disappeared. So I paid them for Sept, and now usbank wants it too...

Grrr. So I'm broke. That and all the expenses started to pile up.

So I'm taking donations.

Send me money.

Please?

Or gift certificates to IKEA.

I'm running off to the closing night of my play. If I didn't note it before, I'll tell you that I'm a playwright as well as all of the other stuff. I'm actually pretty excited about this last piece I wrote, which features five incredibly complex characters and a Greek chorus. I didn't think it was going to work, but it does... and it's good... so anyway, I'll be back in a couple of hours or so.

Those crazy Brits...

who obviously have too much time on their hands.

My question is...who's your favourite and which one(s) are missing from that list?

You love me! You really love me...

or at least Gmail does. It seems that they gave me yet *another* six invites. So if you're interested in getting an invitation from me, comment below.

Blah. It's way too late. Anyway, I've been burning some of my creative juices on ROM, and I'm happy to say that the next section of my rewrite has pretty much been completed. It should be pretty fun. Time to move onto the larger phase before I can release.

Anyway, my first full week of school is done, and I'm at the same time more prepared and busier than I was last year. I still have a lot of grad school work to do in the next few weeks, and I have a play opening (and closing) this weekend. I attended the dress rehearsal this evening, and essentially was stage manager. But now it looks like a number of my students will be attending, so I'm pretty excited about that. It's looking like it's managing along well.

One mob!

I would like to report that I just made one mob.

Of course, that one mob had four items on her, so I had to make the four items.

But that's ONE MOB!

Now, time to go to bed so I can get up for school tomorrow.

Howdy

Hi guys, thought I would add a bit the blog and introduce myself to those who don't know me.

I have been playing on Rom since 1996 when my now husband introduced me to it. He having played even longer than I have. No we did not meet on the internet. LOL.

Hmmm, lets see interests are cooking, computer games, doll makeovers, reading.
I work at a help desk job during the day and chase kiddos around at night. I won't tell you my age, but I have five kids and the oldest is 19 and the youngest is 3; so that should give you a general idea.

Rom is lots of fun and I enjoy talking to the people most of the time. Sometimes I want to smack them, buts thats life. I am a bit lost though right now, since I didn't play for awhile and everything got changed, but hey thats the fun of it, right?
I like to help people but be warned I mud from work and I go missing in action without notice or warning.

Hope to see all of ya'll reading and posting here.
Islena

I do! I do! Me too please!

Well it seems that I have some invites for Gmail and decided to hand them out to players on ROM. For those that are interested, let me know. I'll be handing out one invite to the next six people that comment below. :) I will then contact you, in game, to send you the invitation.

Happiness is...

An apple-flavored Mentos candy.

Well, school started yesterday. I have some interesting classes this year, and they're interested in having me help out with many different classes... so far I'm teaching 2, 4, 6, and 8th period. We'll see what else they put me on... whee.
