Happy New Beer!

Well, for New Years' Eve, my hubby and I went to a comedy show at Massey Hall . The show looked like it would be good as there were a lot of comedians that we both enjoy watching, however, it wasn't that enjoyable. The comedy was pretty flat, the audience didn't really get into it and the comedians (seeing that the hall was only about half full) didn't seem to be putting all that much effort into it; at least that was the case for the first half of the show.

The second half fared much better and the comedy was markedly sharper. The Frantics, who haven't been together in about 20 years, were the best part of the show. It was like they had never been apart. Most of you probably haven't heard of them, but they truly are hilarious. :)

Since the weather was really nice that night we decided to go for a walk after the show. We ended up heading over to Nathan Philips Square (Toronto City Hall) to watch the festivities. We stood around for about 45 minutes, watching the entertainment, but the sound quality was terrible so we ended up leaving. Before I left, I contributed some money to the Tsunami Relief Fund set up by the Canadian Red Cross .

We then headed over to The Keg for a couple of 'keg-sized' drinks (mmmm brown cows). The restaurant was a real 'meat market', (no pun intended). We stayed there for an hour or so and then headed home. Since it was WELL after midnight, the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) opened up the subway to everyone for free which is a rather nice value-added (and REALLY responsible for them to do so).
